Show me the next Step

Show me the next Step

Living the journey instead of aiming for a specific destination is becoming more important to me as I awaken a little bit more every day. I have to tell you about my little journey, literally, that I have been on these last 3 weeks. I will tell you that my efforts and intentions are coming from the deepest part of my heart and spirit. As I began this journey March 15th I was reminded by my bestes friend that it’s the journey not the destination.  So having an intention, a desire without expectations has brought to me some really amazing experiences these last 3 weeks. Always confirming me on my path of exploration, joy and laughter…..of course all these things not without challenge, sweat, exhaustion, and a little stress.

We are truly on an amazing journey. We have so much to look forward to, experience and create.  These three things however depend totally on us. How purposeful do we aspire to create our own destiny. What do we do  that creates joy and happiness in our lives. How much are we affected by our environment and what the society at large tries to instill on us….hm….these are all good and interesting questions.

In the next few blogs I will explore:

1. Living on purpose

2. What brings us joy

3. What do we do to stay in our own power or how do we respond from self referral.

I am looking forward to discovering more about me through these inquiries….join me in doing the same.

Traveling is so rewarding

Traveling is so rewarding

Once we have experienced the joy of experiencing anything but our own environment we are used to from day to day, surrounded by new people, new ideas, new ways of living, new food, different climates….there is something exhilarating about this. We are given the chance to experience the world the way we know it in a completely different way. It opens us to seeing things from another perspective, another set of ideas about the world, another set of status quo behaviors, rules, habits of that group of people….some make sense and others have no bearing on anything important….but that just the way it is.

Going into unfamiliar territory is an exhilarating experience. The uncertainty of what you might find puts you in this state of wide openness and receptivity. This allows you to be this sponge to totally take in everything you encounter…..So what is it that you get out of traveling to new places? What do you hope to encounter or experience…Being in Papua New Guinea is probably one of my most exciting ones….(more next week)

A grand Adventure….

A grand Adventure….

LIFE;

By the grace of what life presents us we are always given multiple choices. It is any given one of them that lays out the pathway on which we walk. At each moment we are given another chance to experience greatness and see the amazing person that we really are. At each turn in the fork we are once again given this choice. This means we are the ones responsible for our actions, for everything good or not that happens to us. This can be hard to swallow at times. It makes me think about Abraham Hicks and the law of attraction. Often unconsciously we are making choices we otherwise would not choose. So how can we become conscious choice makers. Well for one realizing that we our the creator of our own universe through our thoughts, words and actions. Once that is realized we find tools that continue to uplift us, inspire us and help us become greater version of ourselves. For me it has been the 7 Spiritual Laws of Yoga and success.  Today I will share the first Law: The Law of Pure Potentiality. There are three ways you can practice this law:

1. Commune with Nature

2. Spend time in Silent meditation

3. Practice non-judgement

So if you are reading this today see if you can put this law into action through these three things….just for today. The sanskrit that activates this law is Om Bhavam Namah.

Being Vulnerable and Strong at the same time

Being Vulnerable and Strong at the same time

In the very beginning of our existence here on this earth we are taught very early on the rules and regulations about living on this planet from the people around us. And we really believe them, we believe that what they are saying might as well be written in stone.  As we evolve, grow up, experience life, notice our own internal pulsation things start to change. We question everything…..at least that is what people like me do.  Just because someone said something doesn’t mean that it’s so. So how do we discover what resonates with our own inner pulsation, what makes sense to me. If you are open minded you can be ok with all belief systems but have a tendency to sway more towards one then the other. Open minded also means that just because it hasn’t come into my experience that it doesn’t exist. My gut tells me what feels good what is true for me. This perhaps might not make sense to everyone which is just as amazingly ok. Most important, live your own truth.

I have to say that all of these things were going through my mind because of an amazing teacher I had, Dr. David Simon.  A few weeks ago he decided (at least his inner self) that it was time to leave this planet. This brought up another one of those things we are taught growing up….death. No one wants to talk about it, everyone fears it, everyone wants to deny the inevitable. The sweet sweetness about all this, it’s just an illusion….Deepak reminds me regularly in my head…lol, but he does. We change bodies like we change clothes, we can never not exist, but we have forgotten because past generations have forgotten.  We have forgotten to life what dreams are made of. David is reminding me to live to the fullest before the next adventure begins…perhaps in another body :) Thank you dear David.

Where do we begin?

Where do we begin?

Have you ever felt something was missing in your life, or that you were meant to do something but didn’t know what it was. And somehow throughout your life you would go from one experience to another trying things out. Learning but realizing that that was not you. And each time you had an expericne you would come a little closer to who you felt you were. Often times you would try to express yourself but not being able to find the words only to read something in a book that was exactly was you believed in or what you were trying to  explain all along. Well this is my story my entire life since I was about 11. I’m still on this path but now it is different. I have picked up tools along the way that have helped me find my center. I am much closer now to expressing this grander version of myself.  I really think that creating and leading retreats with other amazing people is part of this grander vision of what I’m supposed to be doing. I would love you to be part of this amazing  journey. Join us at one of our upcoming retreats. This might just be the opportunity you have been waiting for. I’d love to hear comments or feedback from any of you out there. Check out www.lotusoasis.com when you get a chance…Aloha and Namaste

What is your Dream….

What is your Dream….

My first Entry here has a special title ‘FUN’
My vision for creating our Health and Wellness retreat center, Lotus Oasis, came from my experiences that were not fun. Several Aha moments finally helped me to figure out that no matter what I do with my life, as well as my daily life, it has to be FUN! This of course did not happen overnight. Like most of us we are plagued with a job we don’t like, or a job that’s too stressful, or a job that does not make ends meet…..are you one of those people?!!!!
When I finally made that shift many things changed and the underlying current of what changed is that now everything I do is fun. Work, Play, Community, Physical Labor, Challenges……are all fun!
This is not to say that I won’t sweat bullets at times, or be frustrated, or be emotionally taxed…..but I keep experience the fun of life, exuberance, anticipation, free spiritedness and joy!
As long as you long to strive toward that which brings you joy and FUN you will only succeed.
Do you want to experience this? If the answer is YES come to one of our amazing transformational retreats….if the answer is NO, continue doing what you are doing.
Namaste,
